New SANDS Support Group in Wigan

Hi my name is Steph in May 2007 I went into premature labour at 24 weeks,  my first little girl Evie was with us for twenty short but precious minutes, and her twin sister Summer stayed with us for three amazing days before leaving us to be with her sister.

It was a horrendous time for myself and my partner, no matter how amazing my family were I felt I needed to speak to others who knew what i was  going through.

I came across the website SANDS www.uk-sands.org and spoke to other ladies who had sadly lost their babies.  I met two lovely ladies from my home town of Wigan.

Lynne had lost her little man Thomas to medical negligence in the last stages of labour.

Louise’s little boy Christopher was sadly stillborn.

We put our heads together and soon discovered there was hardly any support for bereaved families within the Wigan area.  Baby loss is still a very taboo subject something people don’t like to talk about.  We decided to set up our own support group Wigan Sands.

We hope to help families who have suffered the traumatic experience of  losing a much loved a wanted for baby, and allow them to talk to people who understand.
If you feel that we may be able to help you or any-one you know who has been affected by the death of a baby then please get in touch.  All our contact details can be found on our website Wigan Sands
